MICA competition enters decisive stage

The top three applications based on MICA will be unveiled at the HARTING stand during the Hannover Messe 2016.

Participants had the opportunity to submit applications outlining their concepts until mid-January but the selection has now been made. In collaboration with the trade magazine ‘Elektrotechnik’, HARTING launched a call for the development of applications using the open computing system MICA through the “What can you do with MICA?” competition. The high number of applications highlights the extensive range of possibilities for MICA-based applications.

The best concepts have now been selected based on the criteria of usability, creativity, innovative capability and feasibility. The selected applications include an elevator control system via PC and smartphone, the breakdown analysis of processors, predictive maintenance, smart home solutions, wireless communication with sensors and actuators, real-time capability, a communication command centre for control systems and condition monitoring. All participants were provided with a MICA and now have until mid-March to turn their application concepts into reality and to then finally present them.

Awards will be presented to the top three implemented solutions. This will take place at the Hannover Messe trade fair during a trade press visit to the HARTING stand. The applications will also go on display at the HARTING stand for the entire duration of the trade fair.
